Kelly is an avid downhill skier during the winter months and during the rest of the year she enjoys various heart health activities including hiking, running and strength training.

Biography

Dr. Kelly Gregory is responsible for the overall direction of the Microscopy department where she enjoys combining sophisticated microscopy techniques to support the work of researchers.

The adaption of Laser Capture Microdissection has provided Kelly extensive experience in isolating pure cell populations to conduct molecular analysis of a single cell type to help with assay development (in vitro drug discovery).

Kelly earned her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she focused on the effects of environmental toxicants on thyroid hormone-mediated brain development.  Her current research focuses on how the role of Secreted Frizzled Related Protein (SFRP1) plays in breast cancer risk and how this protein could be targeted for breast cancer treatment purposes.
