HistoSpring Expands Board of Directors to Support Biomedical Research Services

HistoSpring a leading provider of biomedical services and resources for advancing oncology research and precision medicine, has announced the appointment of three distinguished board members. The selected leadership will provide strategic guidance and new growth initiatives to support pre-clinical and clinical research.

  • Ashraf Khan, MD, FRCPath, Chair of the Department of Pathology at Baystate Medical Center

    Dr. Khan is renowned for his expertise in surgical breast and endocrine pathology with subspecialties in thyroid and breast cancer research.

    As a leading figure, Dr. Khan currently serves as Chair of Pathology at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. His accomplishments led him to prominent leadership roles as, President and Secretary of the Endocrine Pathology Society, Director of Surgical Pathology, the Surgical Pathology Fellowship, the Pathology Residency Program, and Anatomic Pathology Quality Assurance. Additionally, he serves on the editorial board of the Journal Endocrine Pathology and titles Associate Editor for the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

    Dr. Khan’s decades of experience in pathology and clinical education will further support HistoSpring’s initiatives towards facilitating advancements in breast and endocrine pre-clinical research.

  • Michael F. Malone, B.S., Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Research & Engagement, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

    Dr. Malone serves as Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement and Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

    A fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Dr. Malone has received numerous prestigious awards, including the AIChE Process Development Division Excellence in Process Development Award, the AIChE CAST Division Computing in Chemical Engineering Award, the UMass Amherst Distinguished Teaching Award, and the College of Engineering Outstanding Senior Faculty Award.

    Dr. Malone’s talents span conceptual design, process economics and optimization, nonideal and reactive distillation, engineering-business integration, and technology innovation. With his extensive expertise innovation & entrepreneurship, Dr. Malone will play a vital role in shaping HistoSpring’s strategic initiatives to support biotech startups and pioneering researchers.

  • Tashanna K. Myers, MD, Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology at Baystate Medical Center (BMC) and Professor at UMass Chan Medical School

    Dr. Myers is a distinguished expert in gynecologic oncology. She has played a pivotal role in driving advancements for women’s health. Her areas of specialization include endometrial cancer, endometrial stromal sarcoma, malignant mixed mullerian tumors, ovarian cancer, and ureteroscopy.

    Under her leadership, the Gynecologic Oncology Division at BMC is poised for visual growth, expanding patient care across western Massachusetts and driving global impact through clinical trials. Her passion for innovation has established her as a pioneer for women’s health initiatives.

    Dr. Myers’ extensive expertise in gynecologic oncology will provide high-level guidance for HistoSpring’s mission to advance biomedical research and new targeted therapies for ovarian cancer.
